MARIELA VARGAS-IRWIN, PSYD

Director & Owner, Applied Behavioral Learning Services (ABLS)

A Venezuelan immigrant, graduate of Harvard Medical School, Vargas-Irwin is the founder and director of ABLS, a company serving children diagnosed with ASD (autism spectrum disorder) that employs over 50 people and serves over 300 families. She is particularly interested in ensuring that families have access to bilingual/multicultural services for their children with autism. Vargas-Irwin has demonstrated a continuing impact in her industry through research and graduate teaching, innovative family/parent training programs, and being on the forefront of new techniques in autism behavior therapy, both in-home and in-clinic. Vargas-Irwin has presented at numerous national and international conferences on topics related to ASD and the training of therapists to work with children on the autism spectrum.
