Executive Director, 128 Business Council
Tibbits-Nutt is the executive director of the Waltham-based 128 Business Council and has provided strong and responsible leadership in solving the 128 corridor’s transportation problems. Her hallmark is her commitment to the sustainability and economic vitality of the MetroWest area she serves. She advises communities in the 128 Corridor on transit planning, oversees the operation of 12 shuttle routes with nearly half a million annual riders, and created a leading model for suburban transportation. She redesigned the shuttle buses to make them user-friendly environments for commuting employees, instituted widely profiled health and safety protocols to help combat the coronavirus, and added important technological innovations including real-time operations information, online and phone app payments, reservations and other customer-focused solutions.
In 2015, she was appointed to the MassDOT board of directors and she serves as the vice chair of the MBTA Fiscal Management and Control Board where she has guided the creation of the customer experience department. She is the recipient of numerous awards and recognitions including Mass Transit Magazine’s 40 under 40, is a frequent speaker at national transportation conferences, and serves as a mentor at Harvard and TransitCenter’s Women Changing Transportation Program.
