SHARON STOUT

Trustee, Newton Free Library

For the past 20 years, Stout has served on over 14 boards and has been an advocate for social causes or political events in Newton. An experienced fundraiser and events professional she runs Mahogany Enterprises, Inc. a full service event planning company. Stout is currently serving as chair of the Newton Democratic Party; one of the Deputy Treasurers of The Massachusetts State Democratic Party; a trustee of Newton Free Library, Chair of the board of EmergeMA, and also serves on the advisory board of JALSA. She has also supported such causes as Second Step, CAN-DO, Newton Community Service Center, the Senior Center & YMCA.

 

Under the last 3 Newton mayors, she has touched, organized, and fundraised for many of the signature citywide events, such as ā€Newton Servesā€ for 15 years, Harvest Fair, 4th July, and in recent years, Newtonville Day. Stout started her career working in the District Attorneyā€™s office, Congressman Kennedyā€™s office and elevated to managing events at 3 National Democratic conventions.Ā
