Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

Inclusion statement supporting DEI, anti-racism and anti-bias

We believe businesses and nonprofits should foster workplace and customer environments that provide equal access and equity of opportunity through the intentional inclusion of all.

Celebrating diversity, championing equity and cultivating inclusion, with humility, dignity and civility, are critical to the economic and cultural vitality and overall health of our region.

To best serve and represent our members, the chamber will work continually to ensure inclusion is a meaningful part of all aspects of our organizationā€™s operations and strategic initiatives.

We the chamber commit to:
  • Gathering our board, staff and members to learn from one another on diversity, equity, inclusion and access.
  • Being an active ally to and an advocate for organizations seeking economic and social justice for BIPOC, LGBTQ+ and underrepresented communities.
  • Continue our efforts to create a diverse and inclusive organization and membership that represents the full variety of businesses and business people in our region.
  • Increasing our sourcing of products and services from businesses and nonprofits that are owned, led by, or focused on serving BIPOC, LGBTQ+ and underrepresented communities.
  • Taking action when we witness acts of injustice or bigotry in our communities

We encourage our members to commit to:
  • Attracting, retaining and promoting diverse talent and create welcoming environments for their customers/clients.
  • Diversifying their sourcing of products and services from minority owned/led businesses or nonprofits servicing people of color, LGBTQ+ and underrepresented communities.
  • Taking action when we witness acts of injustice or bigotry in our communities
