CATHERINE VUKY, PH.D.

Director, Asian Mental Health Program & Assistant Professor, Clinical Psychology Department, William James College

With 20+ years of experience in working with immigrant and refugee children and families, Vuky is dedicated to breaking down barriers for members of the Asian community in accessing mental health resources. Through her passions, she established the first national graduate program focusing on the mental health needs of the Asian community, the Asian Mental Health Concentration at Newton-based William James College. The groundbreaking work is allowing the stigmatized topic of mental health to be more accessible to the community.

She established the Asian Providersā€™ Network, resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic and the need for support by young professionals to provide mentorship and networking. Vuky is an active community member working as a consultant for the Asian Community Fund at The Boston Foundation - Mental Health Collaborative. She has served on many community advisory boards including Childrenā€™s Hospital, Boston Refugee Youth Enrichment Program, and Boston Chinatown Neighborhood Centerā€™s Pao Arts Center.
